Our massage therapists at Active Spine Chiropractic specialize in deep tissue massage. During your session, they will target areas of tightness or tension, by applying pressure to the concentrated sub-layers of muscles and fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles. They will focus on freeing muscles and connective tissue from dysfunction through specific, deep strokes.

They could also do Neuromuscular Therapy Massage which consists of muscle stretches, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. Deep tissue and some myofascial release techniques can be uncomfortable due to the intent in affecting the structure of the muscle and connective tissue.

Most people find that the temporary discomfort is well worth the therapeutic effect. Communicate with your therapist if you feel any discomfort during your therapy session and let them know if you experience pain at any time during your treatment session.
