Dr. Spencer Charlet

Spencer Charlet hails from the shores of Jacksonville, Florida. He is completely driven to keep learning, improving, and evolving as a chiropractor and person. He brings a positive attitude and passion for wellness day in day out.
University of Florida was his college of choice. Go Gators! He majored in Finance and taught high school algebra before going back to school to pursue his dreams of becoming a chiropractor.
Doc has studied anatomy, physiology, and the intricate details of the nervous system at the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida. He graduated summa cum lade in 2006 before embarking on his chiropractic journey.
After graduating, he moved four states away with his wife and two babies in tow to start a practice from scratch. Yay for that finance background!

- He is an avid college sports fan (especially basketball)
- Doc is a skilled airsoft player – pew pew pew
- He used to be a personal trainer and has rolled that into his mad adjusting skills

- He’s got a travel bug – Doc loves seeing new places and experiencing new cultures. Hawaii is one of his favorite destinations, Aloha!


Cherie Atha
Cherie Atha is originally from “Almost Heaven” West Virginia, but has been in North Carolina for over 18 years. She is the office manager at Active Spine Chiropractic and has been with Dr. Charlet for over 12 years.
Cherie is the first person you will meet at our office and you will always find her smiling or laughing when you walk in the door! She is also the friendly voice you hear on the phone when you call us. Cherie is the multi-tasking extraordinaire that takes care of all our patients (or anything else that Dr. Charlet needs done and gets lots of steps in, too!) She is passionate about our patients and gives them the best care possible and will always help you feel right at home.
SOME THINGS ABOUT CHERIE:
- Cherie is an artist, has a graphic design degree, loves to draw and create (check out her Etsy shop: artgraphicallynoted.etsy.com)
- Her favorite place (besides Active Spine Chiropractic) : The Beach
- She adores her family! (she is married and is super proud of her two sons!)
- She LOVES Chocolate & Bears and is the resident baker
- She is secretly a mermaid (shhhhhh! Don’t tell anyone!)

Laura Janicki
Laura Janicki is from the Queen’s England, close to Stonehenge and moved to the US with her husband, Tom, over 25 years ago. She is one of our massage therapists (LMBT #6091) and graduated from the Edmund Morgan School of Neuromuscular and Bodywork Massage Therapy in North Carolina. She has been with Dr. Charlet for over 16 years. Laura’s specialty is deep tissue neuromuscular massage and can stretch you out by using her Thai stretching skills. She loves learning new techniques to give our patients the best care possible!

Tori Shepherd
Tori Shepherd is originally from the peach state of Georgia. She is a graduate of the NC Massage School, (formerly the Edmund Morgan School)(LMBT# 10973). Completing her education in 2010, Tori has a passion for the medical side of massage therapy. Her passion for human anatomy goes unmatched!
She brings this excitement into each massage session, encouraging a client-therapist team approach to treatment. Certified in Thai Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Medí-cupping, and Prenatal Massage, just to name a few, Tori’s attention to detail and quirky sense of humor make her a dynamic and personable therapist!

Jake Dailey
Jake Dailey is originally from Tamil Nadu, India, but has spent most of his childhood years in North Carolina. He is the newest addition to our massage therapy team (LMBT #22358).
A graduate from NC Massage School, Jake is certified in Neuromuscular Therapy and is passionate about working with patients as they recover from injuries, manage chronic pain, and/or need a reset from the daily strains and pains of life. A lover of learning, he is always on the lookout for a new skill or technique to bring into his massage treatments.
