Did you see the alliteration in that title? Cure is a very strong word implying a relief of symptoms from a disease. I would never suggest that a person get chiropractic care to cure themselves of cancer, but… I would recommend chiropractic care for anyone who is looking to maintain or improve their overallchiro-adjustment-bw-cropped-2 health.

The body has a unique ability to heal itself. Given the proper nutrients and environment, our bodies were designed to live forever.  Unfortunately, we live in a world where most of our food is void of any healthy nutrients and our environment is plagued with toxins, allergens, and various diseases.  Given that the odds are stacked against us, it is important that we seek out ways to overcome the odds in our favor.

I was reading an article a patient sent to me from the website The Truth About Cancer.  Read the full article here. The article talks about how the body is designed to heal itself.  The most interesting part of the article to me was the review of a study performed by the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation.  In this study, it showed that patients who received regular chiropractic care over a two year period had higher amounts of serum thiol levels than the groups that received short term chiropractic care or not chiropractic care at all. Serum thiol levels act as anti-oxidants in our bodies to help fight against oxidative stress.

I believe that chiropractic care should be used on a regular basis to help your body fight against the stresses of life.  I believe that a healthy diet and regular exercise should also be used, but the chiropractic adjustment has a direct effect on the nervous system of your body and the resulting chemical reactions that follow. Adding chiropractic care as part of your overall wellness could help you live a longer, healthier life.
