Yes, Medicare Covers Chiropractic Care

Yes, Medicare Covers Chiropractic Care

I get asked this question a lot, “Does my Medicare cover chiropractic care”?  And the answer is – yes, it does.  Each state may have their own set of rules, but since I practice in North Carolina, I will use NC for our basis.

Most Medicare plans will give you 24 visits a year, and typically cover 80% of the cost of the adjustment.  This usually averages around $7 per visit for the patient to pay.  If the patient has a secondary insurance there is a good chance that the secondary will pay the patient’s portion.

Medicare does not cover preventative or wellness care visits, so it cannot be used to prevent things from happening.  There must be a documented neuromusculoskeletal condition present in order for the claim to be billed.

If you are suffering from low back pain, neck pain, and any other physical ailments, call our office to schedule an appointment.  We will be able to diagnose the condition and get you the help you deserve.
